The Brisbane-based company has been selling products marked "proudly Australian owned" more than a year after it was bought by US food giant Heinz.
Heinz spokeswoman Jessica Ramsden has laid the blame on the sheer size of the company's output. Further saying, "We had over 400 products to relabel since acquiring Golden Circle late in 2008 and it's just simply taken much longer than we anticipated to complete this process."
I am sure that the Australian executives at Golden Circle knew fully well that their products were labeled 'Australian Owned' and therefore participated in deceptive conduct while selling their product as Australian owned while Golden Circle was owned by parent company Heinz.
So I do not accept the explanation given by the Heinz representative.
